AWS developer

Responsibilities

• Work in both frontend and backend pieces within AWS.
• Support product owners/scrum master with the management of their development team’s staff, including assignment of work items.
• Monitor progress across a variety of initiatives and work packages.
• Support the development, testing, debugging and implementation of software programs, applications and projects.
• Advise staff members on technical issues including specifying proper software designs and use of existing facilities to solve common problems.
• Support the creation, review and approval of software development specifications, projects, proposals, methods and schedules.

Required Skills

• Ability to write Lambda functions using Python.
• Should be comfortable with XML and XSLT to work with ACORD XMLs files.
• Should have very good understanding of ETL and SQL.
• Nice to have knowledge and experience in Azure, Azure Data Factory.
• Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills Verbal as well written.

Required Experience

• Experience developing REST webservices in AWS Lambda.
• Prior experience working with an insurance carrier.
• Experience in developing systems for AWS meeting high availability, Performance, security and scalability criteria.
• Experience in CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Agile / Scrum working experience.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
