AWS Cloud Migration Architect

Discovery & Readiness Planning

• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to assess existing workloads for AWS migration.
• Use tools such as AWS Application Discovery Service, Migration Evaluator, and CloudEndure to collect data and plan workload transitions.

Migration Strategy & Architecture

• Develop workload-specific and enterprise-wide AWS migration strategies aligned with business goals, cloud readiness, and compliance needs.
• Define the optimal migration approach for each application: Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Retire, or Retain.

Solution Design & AWS Architecture

• Design and document target AWS architectures using services such as EC2, RDS, S3, EFS, VPC, Lambda, EKS, Transit Gateway, and CloudWatch.
• Ensure solutions are highly available, secure, and cost-effective, following the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Tooling & Automation

• Define and implement migration tooling strategy using AWS native tools and third-party platforms.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code adoption with CloudFormation or Terraform for repeatable deployments.

Collaboration & Execution Support

• Work with application teams, security, and network architects to validate designs, define guardrails, and ensure operational readiness.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in cloud and infrastructure architecture, with at least 5 years in AWS cloud migration initiatives.
• Strong command of AWS services and migration planning tools.
• Experience in data center exit, infrastructure modernization, and hybrid cloud deployments.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (strongly preferred)
• AWS Migration Competency or experience working with AWS Professional Services or partners
• Familiarity with Well-Architected Tool, Control Tower, and multi-account governance

Desired Skills

• Experience with networking, identity, and security in AWS (IAM, KMS, SCPs, VPC, Transit Gateway).
• Understanding of cloud TCO analysis, cost optimization, and FinOps.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps integration, and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
