Description

As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and managing robust cloud infrastructure critical to our client’s healthcare and life sciences operations. You will be responsible for designing secure, scalable, and cost-optimized solutions on AWS, directly supporting mission-critical applications in unified communications, cloud infrastructure, and imaging storage. Your expertise will ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while enabling innovation and operational efficiency across the enterprise.

 

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions with a focus on scalability, availability, and security in a VMware-based environment hosted on AWS, as well as in native AWS setups.
  • Collaborate closely with development, security, operations, and FinOps teams to define infrastructure requirements, implement solutions, and enable automated provisioning.
  • Establish and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, ensuring consistent, repeatable, and compliant deployments.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud strategies and roadmaps aligned with enterprise objectives, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure infrastructure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations, working proactively to address emerging compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and best practices to enhance cloud infrastructure performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Promote financial accountability by designing infrastructure with cost optimization, resource tagging standards, and cloud governance best practices in mind.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure design, implementation, and management.
  • Deep expertise in AWS services; additional experience with Azure or Google Cloud is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of FinOps principles, cloud cost optimization, and financial governance within cloud environments.
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements, including HIPAA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Preferred certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Architect
