API TESTER

Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced API Tester to join our TCoE team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and validating RESTful and/or SOAP APIs to ensure reliability, performance, and functionality meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute API test plans and test cases.
Validate API functionality, reliability, performance, and security.
Use tools like Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, and others for testing APIs.
Hands on experience in database like SQL, MySQL.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and load testing on APIs.
Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to identify test requirements.
Identify bugs and track them using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
Automate API tests using frameworks like RestAssured, Karate, or similar.
Validate JSON/XML responses and error codes.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in API testing (REST/SOAP).
Hands-on experience with testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar.
Strong understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and request/response formats (JSON/XML).
Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks.
Experience with version control systems like Git.
Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.
Familiarity with API mocking tools and service virtualization
