Description

The API Quality Analyst works with Business Analysts to review requirements for testability. With input from senior team members, the analyst creates QA/Testing work plans, including tasks, time estimations, and dependencies for complex small or medium-sized projects. The role involves writing comprehensive test cases and scripts, performing testing, assigning defect severity, and managing defects throughout the project. The analyst routinely communicates test status to the Senior QA Analyst and Project Manager and reports to the Manager of Quality Assurance/Testing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and technical specifications for testability.
  • Write comprehensive test cases and scripts with input from Business Analysts, Senior QA Analysts, technical leads, and business subject matter experts.
  • Schedule and lead test document review sessions as necessary.
  • Estimate testing activities for small complex or medium-sized projects and coordinate associated testing activities.
  • Routinely communicate status to the Project Manager, QA/Testing Manager, and project team.
  • Develop an understanding of the business environment to ensure QA/Testing solutions align with long-term business and application directions.
  • Maintain knowledge of current QA/Testing methodologies and approaches to provide better testing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with peers, vendors, and business stakeholders through effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit technical influence by developing accurate and comprehensive test cases and scripts, positively impacting business performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
  • 4-6 years of QA/Testing experience (additional years of qualifying work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
