Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role that requires advanced skills in ETL design, data modeling, and performance tuning for high-volume Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain complex Alteryx workflows to support business intelligence, analytics, and data migration projects.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and optimized Alteryx solutions.
- Integrate Alteryx with various data sources such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, flat files, APIs, and cloud-based storage.
- Optimize data workflows for performance and scalability using best practices in data transformation and cleansing.
- Implement error handling, logging, and audit trails in workflows to ensure robust production deployment.
- Design and implement ETL/ELT processes, ensuring high data integrity and system reliability.
- Work closely with stakeholders including data analysts, BI developers, and business users to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, and enrichment tasks to prepare high-quality datasets for reporting and analytics.
- Continuously monitor and tune Alteryx workflows for performance enhancements.
- Document technical processes and develop user guides for workflows and processes.
- Collaborate with QA teams to conduct data validation and UAT testing of developed Skills & Technical Proficiencies :
- Alteryx Designer : Proven hands-on experience in developing Alteryx workflows, macros, apps, and using various Alteryx tools (Join, Union, Filter, Multi-Row Formula, etc.)
- SQL Programming : Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views. Strong understanding of joins, indexing, window functions, and query optimization.
- Database Technologies : Working knowledge of relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
- ETL Processes : Solid experience in building end-to-end ETL pipelines, including data extraction, transformation, and load strategies.
- Data Modeling : Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schema), and normalization/denormalization practices.
- Performance Tuning : Experience in query tuning, database optimization techniques, and analyzing workflow execution performance.
- Best Practices : Adherence to SQL coding standards, version control, workflow documentation, and reusability in Alteryx development.
- Analytical Mindset : Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and a drive for efficiency and Qualifications (Good to Have) :
- Experience with Alteryx Server and scheduling workflows.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data integration.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices in data engineering Background : Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
